Research Spotlight – Davenport Lab

Kimberly Davenport

Dr. Davenport attended the Plant and Animal Genome conference in San Diego, CA, accompanied by two undergraduate students; Jocelyn and Avery. She presented an invited talk in the Cattle/Sheep/Goat workshop. As a nationally respected leader in her field, Dr. Davenport is advancing genomic references and resources for livestock species and applying these tools to address real‑world challenges in production, including reproduction and animal health.

Both students presented posters highlighting the results of their own research projects. This experience opened the door for these young COUGs to the value of research, its real‑world applications, and the scientific community that comes together at international events such as PAG.
