What inspired you to pursue graduate studies in Animal Sciences at Washington State University?

To study fish physiology! I had an ecology background and wanted a project working on molecular aspects of biology.

What is your primary area of study or research focus?

Fish reproductive physiology – understanding the role hormones have in coordinating biology.

What has been the most rewarding aspect of being part of the Animal Sciences community?

Breadth of research across the department, diverse species and disciplines.

Were you nominated and or awarded any special awards or recognition?

Yes. Frasier Memorial Scholarship , Blosser Graduate Fellowship , Ensminger Scholarship , CAHNRS Scholarship.

Have you published any peer-reviewed manuscripts or key research findings?

Yes. My publications illuminate the mechanisms behind sexual maturation and programmed death in semelparous pacific salmon.
