
On Monday, August 31, 2026, the inaugural meeting of the Dairy Club at Washington State University took place in Clark Hall. Clark 149 was teeming with energy and excitement, with more than 60 attendees making the event standing room only. Prior to the meeting beginning at 6:00 PM, incoming members were greeted with a variety of milk, cookies, cheese, and other dairy products.
The meeting was called to order at 6:05 PM by club president Kara Teachman. The recently elected officer team and club advisors, Dr. Zachary Seekford and Dr. Linda Beckett, introduced themselves to incoming members. The meeting included discussions of upcoming club activities and student competitions, including plans to form teams for Dairy Quiz Bowl and Dairy Challenge at regional and national competitions. Members also discussed the development of committees to support club activities and student engagement throughout the upcoming academic year. After discussion of new business, the meeting was adjourned at 7:05 PM, and members were invited to participate in a dairy-themed crafting activity.
The Dairy Club at WSU is dedicated to making a positive difference in the lives of students and youth by promoting awareness of the dairy industry while creating opportunities for leadership, personal growth, career development, community service, and professional engagement. Through its revitalization, the Dairy Club aims to build a community of excellence at Washington State University that supports student success, strengthens connections with the dairy industry, and prepares students to become future leaders in agriculture.
