Following a competitive national search, Washington State University Animal Sciences is excited to announce the appointment of Dr. Addison Carroll as an Assistant Professor in our department. We are both fortunate and grateful that the WA Dairy industry financially supported this position and are committed to her success in this role.
Dr. Carroll earned her Ph.D. from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln, under the mentorship of Dr. Paul Kononoff. Her dissertation research evaluated factors of variance in energy utilization of dairy cattle. Dr. Carroll’s research at WSU will focus on improving the understanding of energy and nitrogen utilization in dairy cattle, with the goal of enhancing feed efficiency and reducing environmental impact. Her overarching aim is to develop both practical strategies and innovative technologies that support producers in building more sustainable, efficient, and profitable dairy production systems.
“I am excited and grateful for the opportunity to serve Washington dairy producers as a Dairy Cattle Specialist and to join the faculty in the Department of Animal Sciences at Washington State University.”
