Research Spotlight – Carroll Lab

Addison Carroll

At WSU in Animal Sciences, we take pride in what our students learn within the classroom and laboratories. We build competencies that ensure our students are prepared for the many careers open to them upon degree completion. It is also of critical importance that students optimize their personal growth and maturation through learning opportunities provided outside of the classroom. Dr. Addison Carroll creates undergraduate research opportunities in her lab, providing students like Tayden Beadle, Anji Datta, Tatum Janning, Sabine Mundt, Thea Seeberger, and Kim Zapata hands-on learning in the area of dairy production and dairy sustainability/efficiency, while studying antimethanogenic feed compounds, whole‑animal nutrient utilization and excretion, and opportunities to enhance nutrient management on farm.

Kudos to Dr. Carroll for creating these transformative opportunities, and kudos to the students who stepped outside of their comfort zones to gain an appreciation and experience in transformative livestock research.
