This past Friday, May 15, the Animal Science Department proudly participated in the 96th Washington FFA Convention & Expo, where more than 3,000 FFA members from across Washington State gathered to learn, connect, and explore career opportunities in agriculture.
As part of the event, Dr. Kimberly Davenport led an engaging, hands-on workshop titled “Beef Up Your Knowledge.” The session provided students with valuable insights into cattle science and practical industry applications.
The workshop welcomed an impressive 20 FFA chapters and 110 participants, who had the opportunity to take part in interactive activities and guided tours of the Cattle Feeding Lab.
We would like to extend our appreciation to Lisa Hunter, Nancy Hernandez, Cyrus Gibbons, and Keliann Stephens for their support in facilitating the hands-on workshops and tours, helping create a meaningful and educational experience for all attendees.
We also thank the Washington FFA organization and all participating students for their enthusiasm, curiosity, and commitment to agricultural education.
We were honored to be part of such an impactful event and look forward to continuing to support the next generation of agricultural leaders.
